About File Formats. MP3 is a digital audio format without digital rights management (DRM) technology. Because our MP3s have no DRM, you can play it on any device that supports MP3, even on your iPod! KBPS stands for kilobits per second and the number of KBPS represents the audio quality of the MP3s.4/5(2).

Convert MP3 file View other music file formats: Technical Details: The MP3 format is a lossy format. That means that an MP3 file does not contain % of the original audio information. Instead, MP3 files use perceptual coding. In other words, that means it removes the information that your ear doesn't notice thereby making the file smaller.

Feb 23,  · A file is saved as 2 parts on the storage device: directory info (which is comprised by file name, time stamp and size info, etc.) and data content. If the files with original file names and folder structures cannot be opened, one possible reason is the corrupted directory info.

      - The compressed format allows MP3 CDs to hold 4 to 12 hours of audio files (depending on the bitrate--a large bitrate such as kbps takes up more space than a lower bitrate such as kbps). - MP3 CDs can be played in MP3 players and computer CD-ROMs (or any CD player that supports MP3 playback), but not in standard CD players.

If the music files do not have information in that column, you can go to each file, right click on it and select "properties", then click on the "details" tab, go down to the track field and click on that area, enter the track number and click "apply" or "ok". You should be able to sort your music files .
