A trio from L.A., Funkdoobiest dropped their first album Which Doobie U Be? in Down with Cypress Hill, it was produced entirely by beat-wizard DJ Muggs, who is well-known for his work with Cypress Hill, House of Pain, and the Soul Assassins series. Flaunting their love for weed and the ladies (the group's Son Doobie has actually worked in porn), they returned in with Brothers Doobie.

The name Funkdoobiest came later in from a song B-Real from Cypress Hill had written called "The Funkdoobiest". Quote from a Ralph M interview: So one day Muggs and myself were rollin' around in L.A. and I said "yo, we the Funkdoobiest: Ralph M., Son Doobie, Tomahawk Funk.".
